Quit notice: Landlord must give at least 1 month notice (or as stated in TA) before asking you to vacate.
Deposit return: Must be returned within 30 days of vacating (after deductions for legitimate damage).
Habitable condition: Landlord must ensure the unit is safe and liveable. Severe mould, broken plumbing, and structural issues are landlord responsibilities.
TTPM: The Tribunal for Consumer Claims handles rental disputes under RM50,000. No lawyers needed, relatively quick.
Police report: If landlord changes lock without notice, you can file a police report.
Always get everything in writing.
