Bank Negara holds OPR — what it means for property buyers

Bank Negara kept OPR at 3.00% this quarter. Here's why it matters for you:

For fixed-rate borrowers: No immediate impact — your monthly installment stays the same.

For variable-rate (floating) loans: Also stable for now. But if OPR rises later, your monthly payment could increase.

For buyers still weighing options: This is actually good news. Stable rates = predictable repayment. Lock in now before any future hike.

Is now a good time to buy? Property prices are rising in prime areas. With stable rates, the longer you wait, the higher entry price.

My advice: Don't time the market. Buy when you're financially ready.
