What is Vacant Possession (VP) and Certificate of Completion (CCC)?

VP (Vacant Possession): The developer hands you the keys. From VP date, your legal ownership begins and loan repayments start.
CCC (Certificate of Completion and Compliance): Issued by the local authority, certifying the building is safe and complete. Without this, technically the building shouldn't be occupied.
Why the gap matters: VP is given when the unit is complete, but CCC may come weeks or months later. This is normal in Malaysia.
Defect Liability Period (DLP): 24 months from VP date. Report all defects IN WRITING to the developer. Keep all records.
Always check: Does your SPA include a defect liability clause? (It should by law.)
