First-time buyer, new job worries for home loan (Shah Alam)

The biggest headache right now is my job. I just switched companies about three months ago for a better offer. My wife has been with her company for years, very stable. But my income is higher and it's definitely needed to qualify for the loan amount we're aiming for.
I heard before that banks really prefer you to be in your current job for at least 6 months, or even a year, before applying for a home loan. Is this still the standard practice? Or can banks consider other factors like my previous employment history (which was stable for 5 years) or a solid EPF statement to show consistent income?
We found a unit we really like, and we don't want to miss it just because of this. Any sifu or experienced buyers here can share some insights? How do banks actually evaluate loan applications for someone with a recent job change, especially for first-time buyers? What documents should I prepare to make our case stronger? Thanks in advance!
